After Transformers: Dark of the Moon hauled in more than $1 billion at the global box office, Hasbro is eager to keep its toy-trafficking franchise rolling on the bigscreen.

Paramount is in negotiations to pick up The Hauntrepreneur, an original spec by Scott Rosenberg. Platinum Dunes, the horror thriller shingle run by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, is producing. v

Hollywood's fixation with robots and the undead has fueled a spec package deal that includes underlying rights to the IDW Zombies Vs. Robots. JT Petty has used the comic as the basis for a spec script called Inherit the Earth.

Now Bay's aggressive courting of tay-tay has paid off, and last night the two filmmakers sent out a script for auction to all the major studios. I've learned that already this morning studios have begun bidding on a Bay-Lautner project.

The new script was written and will be directed by Bobby Glickert, and produced by Bay and Steven Schneider. It's being called the "Confidential Alien Project", and it's said to be a cross between Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity.

Michael Bay and the rest of Platinum Dunes will oversee the launch of a new live-action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film, according to Deadline New York.

Paramount has picked up "Gideon's Sword," optioning the upcoming novel for Michael Bay to produce through his Bay Films shingle.

Paramount has scooped up George Mahaffey's spec script "Heatseekers" for Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes to produce.
