The Weinstein Company has acquired the Michael Gates Gill memoir How Starbucks Saved My Life.

The studio, which is in post-production with Legendary Pictures on Clash of the Titans sequel Wrath of the Titans, is developing the next installment of the tales inspired by the Greek myths, even though Wrath doesn’t open until March 30, 2012.

Risky Business is reporting that screenwriter Daniel Sussman and producer Polly Johnsen are planning to make a movie about the 1900 Galveston, Texas hurricane. Warner Bros. Pictures has bought the script for the drama that would center on the Category 4 hurricane.

Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up the film rights to author David Peace’s Japanese crime thriller, "Occupied City." Polly Johnsen is producing the project through her Polymorphic Pictures, which has a first-look deal with the studio.
