Warner Bros is back on track with its long-gestating remake of the pulp sci-fi classic Logan’s Run.

Andrew Baldwin has come aboard to tackle the new Warner Bros. version of the classic sci-fi tale for director Nicolas Winding Refn, star Ryan Gosling and producers Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman.

Will Beall, the former L.A. cop-turned-scribe who wrote the script for Warners Bros.' just-greenlighted Gangster Squad, is in negotiations to pen Logan's Run, also for the studio.

Carl Rinsch is no longer attached to direct Logan’s Run. The Warner Bros. sci-fi project, a fresh adaptation of the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan that was made into a 1976 feature, had Rinsch on board to direct but the commercial director has left the project to devote his energies on Universal’s 47 Ronin.

Alex Garland, the writer behind the Danny Boyle-directed movies “28 Days Later …” and “Sunshine,” is in negotiations to tackle “Logan’s Run” for Warner Bros.
