Legends collide in “Godzilla vs. Kong” as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. • Godzilla vs. Kong will premiere in select theaters, IMAX, and HBO Max on March 26, 2021
• Unknown at this time whether the stars of either Godzilla: King of the Monsters or Skull Island will be reprising their roles in Godzilla vs. Kong (Hollywood Reporter, 5/30/17).
• Shortly following Legendary's pact with Universal Pictures, Legendary acquired rights to additional classic characters from Toho's Godzilla universe, including Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. This paved the way for developing a franchise centered around Monarch and anchored by Godzilla, King Kong, and other famous creatures.
