• Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
• Brie Larson shadowed Brigadier General Jeannie Leavitt, 57th Wing Commander at the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada to prepare for her role in the film (Variety, 3/28/18).
• Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will have two eyes in the film. Captain Marvel takes place before the other MCU films, even before Iron Man, in the 1990s (Comic Con, 7/22/17).
• Helmers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who directed Half Nelson (2006) and Mississippi Grind (2015), are on-board to direct the pic (Hollywood Reporter, 4/19/17).
• Niki Caro (Whale Rider, McFarland, USA) and Jennifer Kent (The Babadook) are said to be possible directors (Hollywood Reporter, 6/1/16).
