Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli (Rohan Chand) has never truly belonged in either the wilds of the jungle or the civilized world of man. Now he must navigate the inherent dangers of each on a journey to discover where he truly belongs.

Key Facts

• The film will have exclusive limited theatrical engagements starting November 29 in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and London. The film will be released globally on Netflix on December 7 and will have an expanded theatrical release in additional theaters in the U.S. and UK (Netflix, 11/8/18).
• Netflix has acquired the film from Warner Bros. for an undisclosed price and will release the movie next year (Variety, 7/27/18).
• This would be Andy Serkis' feature directorial debut after directing second unit on Peter Jackson's The Hobbit movies.
• Since the Jungle Book stories are in the public domain, Disney and Warner Bros. are developing their own Mowgli adventures.
