When a talented young dancer moves to Los Angeles with her family she is nervous about fitting in. As she teaches her younger sister’s dance team, she is quickly noticed and recruited by the top dance squad in the city. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.

Formerly a principal dancer at the Bolshoi Ballet, Olga Smirnova has been the audience’s favorite in the Bolshoi Ballet in Cinema series in which she performed, amongst other, in La Bayadère, Giselle and Swan Lake: she returns to the big screen, bringing back the best of ballet for global dance lovers’ pleasure. Having fled from Russia at the beginning of 2022, the celebrated international dancer joined the Dutch National Ballet.
