"Valentine's Day" follows the intertwining storylines of a group of Los Angelinos as they find their way through romance over the course of one Valentine's Day.

Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.

Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. The story follows the tale of Vicky and Christina (Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall), two Americans vacationing in the title's Spanish city, who become part of a chain of romances involving an artist (Javier Bardem) and his nutty ex-wife (Penelope Cruz).

In the early 1960s, Victor Torres and his family moved to Brooklyn, New York from their native Puerto Rico in search of a new life. The American dream quickly fades as they face a life of want in their adopted home.
