Set primarily in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Bob Hunter and Rex Weyler lead an eccentric group of pacifists, ecologists, musicians, teachers, sailors, and scientists as they attempt -- often successfully -- to disrupt American and French nuclear bomb tests, Japanese and Russian whaling ships and Norwegian infant harp seal hunters. In the process, they inadvertently start a movement that is still going strong nearly four decades later.

Set during the 1980s, a woman battles to secure equal rights for female sports journalists, insisting they deserve the same access to athletes as their male colleagues. She eventually becomes one of the first women to enter the locker room.
