"Urban Townies", from writer Jesse Wigutow, follows an alienated young man who tries his hand at being a novelist, but must return home for his father's funeral - only to discover that his ex-girlfriend is now dating his best friend
A man attempts to subvert his girlfriend's desire to settle down by "discovering" the urban tribes trend, of people not getting married but forming friendships that take the place of traditional families, and declaring it the new, hip alternative to commitment. She accompanies him on a research trip, bent on proving that his discovery is idiotic and he should marry her.
