Paramount to Release Martin Scorsese's SILENCE in December
Paramount Pictures announced Martin Scorsese’s Silence will be released in select theaters on December 23, followed by a wide release in January 2017. The specific date in January is TBA.

Scorsese wrote the screenplay with Jay Cocks (Gangs of New York), based on the book “Silence” by Shusaku Endo. The project was first announced back in 2009.

The story follows 17th century Jesuits who risk their lives to bring Christianity to Japan.

Silence cast includes Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider-Man), Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Liam Neeson, Tadanobu Asano, Issey Ogata, Ciaran Hinds, Yosuke Kubozuka, and Yoshi Oida
