Paul Greengrass is looking to bring George Orwell's classic dystopian novel 1984 back to the big screen.

Sony Pictures has emerged from a competitive situation with the feature film rights to Thomas Sweterlitsch's sci-fi novel Tomorrow and Tomorrow.

MGM has set Noah Oppenheim to script its planned remake of the 1980s Cold War classic War Games. Horrible Bosses helmer Seth Gordon is attached to direct the film, one of several remakes in the works at the troubled MGM studio (Robocop, Carrie).

Summit has hired Noah Oppenheim to pen its take on the master magician in an adaptation of The Secret Life of Houdini, The Making of America's First Superhero. Summit picked up feature-film rights to the biography by William Kalush and Larry Sloman in March 2009.

A film version is set up at Fox, and "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke signed on a month ago to direct the adaptation. Now a source close to the film says the project has hired a screenwriter, and he's an interesting choice: Noah Oppenheim.
