Revolution‘s Giancarlo Esposito has lined up historical drama Patriotic Treason as his next directing project, with Oscar-nominated Ed Harris set to star as radical abolitionist John Brown.

Antonio Banderas will play Mario Sepulveda, aka Super Mario, in The 33, the feature version of the saga of the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped underground for 69 days in 2010.

Producer Mike Medavoy has acquired rights to the story of the 33 mine workers who were trapped underground for 69 days in the fall and rescued in front of worldwide news cameras. Oscar-nominated screenwriter Jose Rivera (Motorcycle Diaries) will adapt the movie, which is scheduled to go into production next year.

Fox Searchlight is turning the Oscar-nominated documentary La Corona into a feature film, and has set Jose Rivera to write the script and Rodrigo Garcia to direct. The 2008 Spanish language film was nominated in the Short Subject Documentary category.

Scott Stuber has acquired screen rights to "American Rust," the debut novel from Philipp Meyer. "The Motorcycle Diaries" duo of Walter Salles and Jose Rivera are attached to helm and pen the script, respectively.
