In 1948, Hirasawa Sadamichi poisons and kills a dozen employees in a Tokyo bank, then robs it. He claims to have been charged by the U.S. occupation forces with inoculating the employees against typhoid. He is ultimately convicted of the murders and dies many years later in prison.
