Plot – What's the story about?

Plot: The Turning takes us to a mysterious estate in the Maine countryside, where newly appointed nanny Kate is charged with the care of two disturbed orphans, Flora and Miles. Quickly, she discovers that both the children and the house are harboring dark secrets and things may not be as they appear.

The movie was just weeks away from beginning filming, but DreamWorks principal Steven Spielberg pulled the plug because he didn't like director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and writer Scott Z. Burns' rewrite (Hollywood Reporter, 9/21/16).
