What's the story about?

Plot
Two centuries from now, scientists detect a 10 trillion ton object, nicknamed "Rama," hurtling through Earth's solar system at an unfathomable speed. After deploying a space probe, it turns out: Rama is an extra-terrestrial spacecraft. The Spaceship Endeavor commander leads a team of astronauts discover a self-contained world of alien wonders and unknown purpose.
