Producer Larry Kasanoff told Empire Magazine (6/27/16) that the film will be a trilogy. "That’s correct and purely because the story we conceived is so big."
Line producer Dane Smith (Transformers, Harry Potter, Spiderman) will be responsible for implementing the unique Tetris VFX developed especially for the film.
Hollywood Reporter (5/17/2016) says, the film is being packed as an "epic sci-fi thriller." The partners say it will be an official China-U.S. co-production, with a Western and Chinese ensemble cast.
