• Principal photography took place on location at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific.
• As stated in Frank Miller's 1986 comic book, "The Dark Knight Returns," in which Batman battles Superman: "I want you to remember, Clark. In all the years to come. In all your most private moments. I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you."
• Dark Knight trilogy star Christian Bale (Batman) has made it absolutely clear: he's done playing the character – he will not be in this film. DC Entertainment will re-cast the role; Ben Affleck ultimately won the role.
• "Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack's continuing vision for the DC Universe," said DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson in a statement.
