Is Cinderella the next Snow White? With a handful of new takes on the Snow White story actively in the works around Hollywood, Universal is looking to conjure a fresh take on the classic Cinderella story as well, with Ann Peacock in final negotiations to rewrite an untitled reimagining of the fairy tale.

Fred Schepisi has signed on to direct The Drowner, John Collee’s (Happy Feet, Master And Commander) adaptation of Robert Drewe’s 1890s-set novel about a young British engineer who travels to Western Australia to help build a pipeline from the coast to the country’s gold fields.

Paranormal Activity helmer Oren Peli has signed on to direct "Eliza Graves" for Sobini Films and Icon Prods.
