Set in a world run by computer, Finn, a 17-year old, is a prisoner in Incarceron. He is determined to escape the prison fashioned centuries ago as a solution to the chaos created by man. Claudia, the warden's daughter, lives sequestered in a castle surrounded by servants. But she, too, longs for escape—from a father who frightens her and from betrothal to an insipid prince. Told through a dossier of found documents, texts, instant messages, ship schematics, casualty lists and classified files, a teenage hacker and her fighter pilot ex-boyfriend struggle with their broken relationship while they unearth a conspiracy surrounding an intergalactic war that has them dealing with an enemy race, rogue artificial intelligence and a deadly virus.
