In 17th Century Amsterdam, an orphaned girl (Alicia Vikander) is forcibly married to a rich and powerful merchant (Christoph Waltz) – an unhappy “arrangement” that saves her from poverty. In 1993, West Memphis, Arkansas was rocked by the brutal murders of three 8-year old boys playing in the woods. The police quickly accused three teenage boys, claiming they killed the children as part of a satanic ritual.
