On a passenger train, a beautiful young woman traveling alone carries a handmade ceramic vase, intricately painted by her own hand, a gift for a distant lover. In "Saraband", Marianne and Johan (the couple in "Scenes from a Marriage") meet again after thirty years without contact, when Marianne suddenly feels a need to see her exhusband again.
