Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. A young boy fighting cancer writes letters to God, touching lives in his neighborhood and community and inspiring hope among everyone he comes in contact. An unsuspecting substitute postman, with a troubled life of his own, becomes entangled in the boy's journey and his family by reading the letters. They inspire him to seek a better life for himself and his own son he's lost through his alcohol addiction.

Over the course of one year, the film follows the Second Platoon in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley, a stronghold of al Qaeda and the Taliban, and observe the soldiers' back breaking labor, deadly firefights, and camaraderie as they push back the Taliban.

The story concerns a womanizer who wakes up sans his "family jewels" after an irate father attacks him with a trumpet. Things go from bad to worse for the title character when he learns that he's being sued for paternity by a woman he can't even remember having sex with.
